Beschreibung

An Ocean of Song: Mantra, Poetry, and Creative Practice is a kirtan retreat at Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. It is led by Jahnavi Harrison, a musician, writer, artist and practitioner of bhakti-yoga, and it centers on mantra, sacred song and creative expression. It suits anyone drawn to kirtan, devotional music and the idea of making art as a spiritual practice.

About Jahnavi Harrison

Jahnavi Harrison spent her formative years at Bhaktivedanta Manor in England, in an environment where mantra chanting and sacred art were part of everyday life. Her background includes Western and Eastern classical music and dance, and she has followed a path of self-realisation and service through artistic expression.

For nearly 20 years she has offered her voice and violin in performances of original spiritual music and mantra kirtan, in venues around the world. Her work invites a sense of deep connection through sacred song and a reconnection to the sacred space within us all. She aims to create art and facilitate experiences that heal, uplift and nourish the spirit. Now based in California, she regularly leads live gatherings, sound bath experiences, concerts and retreats.

The Setting

The retreat takes place at Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat on Paradise Island, in the Bahamas, a yoga retreat setting by the sea that suits a gathering built around song, reflection and creative work.
